Elemi essential Oil, Clean, Green with Pine like undertones and Grass and Frankincense resin notes. Highly antiseptic, useful in masculine blends, and helps extend the scent of citrus blends
Elemi Essential Oil
Canarium luzonicum is a large evergreen tree growing to a maximum height of about 30 m (100 ft). The leaves are alternate and are pinnate.
Typically growing in the Philippines, when the tree sprouts its yellow leaves, the natural resin is emitted from the tree which dries hard on contact with the air. This oleoresin from the tree is known as Elemi. When the leaves fall, the resin stops.
Elemi oil is a relative of Frankincense and Myrrh.

Characteristics of Elemi Essential Oil
Elemi oil has a sharp balsamic-spicy, almost lemony scent. Elemi is invaluable as an incense ingredient and also for ‘fixing’ perfumes, tethering ingredients which otherwise would fade fast.
Common Uses of Elemi Essential Oil
The ability of Elemi to elongate the scent of other citrus essential oils, make it highly useful in blends. Use at a lower dose and let Elemi enhance the scent of your blend.
