Lime Essential Oil

Characteristics of Lime Essential Oil

Sharp and bitter-sweet, the distilled oil gives a clean and fresh fragrance with green top notes and citrus undertones.

Common Uses of Lime Essential Oil

Lime is a fresh uplifting oil that is rich in antioxidants that help your skin look great and your hair vibrant and healthy. Emotionally Lime helps lift spirits and brings a sense of positivity.

Antioxidant-Rich Properties

Lime essential oil is packed with antioxidants and nutrients like vitamin C that are highly beneficial for skin health. The antioxidants help protect the skin from free radical damage caused by environmental stressors such as UV rays from the sun, pollution, and other environmental toxins. They also help reduce inflammation and fight signs of aging like wrinkles, dark spots, and dryness.

Anti-Bacterial Properties

The antibacterial properties found in lime essential oil can help keep your skin clean and clear by reducing bacteria that can cause breakouts or acne. It’s also great for treating existing acne because it can help reduce swelling and redness while cleansing the pores of any dirt or debris that may be causing irritation.
Moisturizing Properties

Lime essential oil is incredibly hydrating due to its vitamin C content. Vitamin C helps promote collagen production which increases elasticity in the skin and improves texture overall. Additionally, it helps lock in moisture so your skin stays soft and supple all day long without feeling greasy or oily.

Lime essential oil has been used for centuries in traditional medicine as a way to reduce stress and anxiety. It is known to have calming effects on the mind, allowing you to relax and focus on tasks more easily. This can be especially helpful for those who suffer from chronic stress or depression, as it provides an opportunity for relief from their symptoms. Additionally, lime essential oil is believed to promote creativity and clarity by providing an uplifting scent that helps stimulate the mind.
Lime essential oil is rich in antioxidants that can help reduce inflammation in your muscles. Research has shown that it may also help reduce pain associated with sore muscles by providing relief from stiffness or aches. Additionally, lime essential oil may have antimicrobial properties, which can help protect against bacteria and fungi that can lead to infections or other issues in the body.

Lime essential oil helps promote healthy hair growth due to its high levels of Vitamin C, which helps strengthen the hair follicles by providing them with needed nutrients. In addition, the citric acid found in lime essential oil can help remove dead skin cells from the scalp, allowing for new healthy hair growth. The antiseptic qualities in lime essential oil also help reduce dandruff and other scalp irritations. It is not just about promoting new growth; this oil can also help restore shine to dull-looking locks by nourishing them with antioxidants and fatty acids.

Lime blends well with other Citrus Oils and also with Neroli, Lavender, Geranium, Ylang ylang, Rosemary, Cypress and Rosewood. Blended with Ylang Ylang is one of our favourite combinations.
