Product Description

Shea Butter womens co-operative in Burkina

The wild Shea nut tree grows exclusively in the savannahs of the Sahel region of northern Africa, located between Senegal and the Sudan. The origin of our Shea butter is Burkina Faso. The Shea tree produces its first fruit when it is about 20 years old and reaches full production at the age of 40 – 50. Shea butter is obtained from the seeds of the karité nuts.

Our crude Shea butter directly from the cooperatives in the village of Burkina. The crude Shea butter is physically refined without using solvents (chemical refining), which would destroy all the vitamins. The refined Shea butter does not contain any additives.

Organic Shea butter, delicately refined for skincare use. Emollient and moisturising

One of the most revered ingredients in skincare, our Shea butter is Organic, ethical and beautiful. Use direct or as an ingredient in lotions, creams or soap making.

Classic Shea butter has an excellent ability to penetrate the skin without clogging pores, allowing the skin to breathe. Shea Butter is slightly yellowish to ivory coloured and a natural fat extracted from the seed of the African Shea tree (Butyrospermum Parkii).

The refining process maintains the chemical composition, but remove the impurities that you find in unrefined Shea butter. This makes is more suitable for use directly on the skin and easier to work with in cosmetic formulations, in addition to improving shelf life. Refined Shea butter is recommended for use within skincare products. Shea butter, cherished for its soothing qualities and abundant benefits, is a staple in the world of cosmetics.

It has a unique ability to deeply moisturise and repair the skin, while still allowing it to breathe freely – a balance that is truly important. The richness of Shea butter comes from its blend of phytosterols, terpene alcohols, vitamins E, Pro-vitamin A and, uniquely, Vitamin F in high quantities, which are renowned for their nurturing, healing and regenerative properties. But it does not stop with just skincare. Shea butter also finds its use in producing creams or the well-loved body butter.

Heated Shea butter, when mixed into cream bases, creates a substantial body butter that nourishes your skin beautifully. Shea butter also proves to be a delightful treat for your hair. By simply massaging it into your roots, it brings life back to dry hair and can be incorporated into conditioners for that added shine and nourishment.

Explore the world of Shea butter and indulge your skin and hair in its abundant benefits.
