Basil is one of the plants we are planting at our Surrey fields, to harvest both the essential oils and herb for use in Cosmetics and Food.

Latin Name: Ocimum basilicum
Overview: Basil is a tender, aromatic annual herb with green leaves and small white / pink flowers.
Extraction: The essential oils is steam-distilled from the leaves and flowering tops
Countries of Origin: France, Egypt, India, Italy, Bulgaria, Hungary, England*
Character: Basil has a sweet, green, herbaceous top note with spicy, aniseed like undertones.
Blends with: Basil blends well with most herb and citrus oils as well as Frankincense and Pine
