Pumpkin Grown Organically at our Farm for skincare
The Pumpkin found in our skincare products is grown Organically on our Farm, for purity and traceability. Pumpkin is fast becoming one of the most sought after plant oils and extracts for skincare. Pumpkin is rich in natural AHA (Alpha Hydroxy acids) that increase cell turnover to brighten and smooth the skin.
The Journey of our Pumpkins
The planting of our pumpkins is very much a family affair, with our then 3 year old helping to plant each of the 1000 Pumpkin Seeds that we planted. The Pumpkin seeds were planted very early Summer in our Greenhouse, to ensure no last minute frost would damage their progress.
We planted out the small saplings a few weeks later and then the magic of nature took its course. To ensure purity, we weed by hand, using natural mulches from our surrounding Pine Trees to suppress weeds. We never apply any fertilisers of pesticides to the land.
The benefits of Pumpkins in Skincare Products
Pumpkin is rich in AHA’s. AHA’s help to brighten skin complexion, almost like a gentle (but of course natural) Chemical Peel. Pumpkin Oil is rich in Vitamin E, Zinc, Omega 3, Omega 6 and antioxidants. This, therefore makes Pumpkin Seed Oil have excellent moisture retaining properties that fight free radicals to maintain a Youthful appearance.
The high levels of Zinc, help improve skin tone and keep your skin free of blemishes and acne.
The Haircare benefits of Pumpkin Oil
Like Saw Palmetto, Pumpkin is rich in enzymes which inhibit 5-alpha in the scalp. For men, this is very useful as too much 5-alpha slows or stops hair growth and thus the addition of Pumpkin to a haircare product for men helps ensure healthy, luscious hair.
The Omega 3 / 6 antioxidant content of Pumpkin gives protection to the hair follicle, helping prevent split ends and being an excellent additive to formulations for haircare products intended for dry and damaged hair.
