Chamomile is a carminative, healing tonic used in skincare products for anti-inflammatory and anti-irritant properties.
Chamomile Extract
The Chamomile plant is a low-growing plant that creeps and trails. It has tufts of leaves and flowers and grows to a foot height. The blooms start to appear around the end of July until September. The flowers are made up of 18 white rays around a conical golden-yellow centre.
We extract the goodness from the Chamomile plant without the scent into a water-soluble solution containing all the actives, making Chamomile extract an excellent way to add the properties of Chamomile into a water-based product.

Historical Usage of Chamomile
Antioxidants and Anti-Inflammatory Properties
Chamomile oil is loaded with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents that help protect the skin from free radicals and other environmental stressors. The antioxidants in chamomile oil can help reduce oxidative damage to the skin cells, which can lead to premature aging. Chamomile oil also contains anti-inflammatory compounds that reduce inflammation and redness in the skin, helping to promote a healthier complexion.
Healing Properties
Chamomile oil is known for its potent healing properties that can help heal wounds and repair damaged skin cells. It has been used for centuries as a natural remedy for treating cuts, bruises, burns, rashes and other skin conditions. The healing compounds in chamomile oil can help accelerate the healing process by reducing inflammation, promoting cell regeneration and improving blood circulation.
Moisturising Properties
Chamomile oil is also rich in fatty acids that provide deep hydration to the skin without leaving it feeling greasy or heavy. In addition to providing long-lasting moisture, these fatty acids also act as emollients, helping to soften dry or rough patches of skin while restoring its natural elasticity. The moisturizing effects of chamomile oil can be especially beneficial during colder months when your skin may become extra dry due to cold temperatures or harsh winds.
